Hey, Pete from Plymouth SEO Services here, and in Part 2 of our How To Learn SEO Quickly series, we’ll look at the seemingly complicated and confusing world of search engine optimisation: the place where nothing is certain and so called SEO gurus are preaching totally different things.
Confused? It’s a crowded and noisy space where it’s easy to get a bad case of information overload and analysis paralysis from so many conflicting technical tactics and strategies.
And if you’re spending the majority of your time-consuming guides on how to do SEO, and reading post after post on SEO Facebook Groups, then you won’t leave yourself any time to actually do it and become an SEO Ninja yourself.
And make no mistake about it, just getting on and doing it is the ONLY way you’re going to get better at it. You can do all the theory you want (including reading this great post), but getting your hands dirty and getting stuck in is the best way to learn and improve.
And for that reason, these posts are going to highlight some of the principles that I believe are absolutely critical for discovering not only how to learn SEO quickly and how to learn SEO fast, but how to learn SEO effectively (which is more important).
So let’s get to it then.
Now, the first thing you need to do is nail the fundamentals.
Let’s say you wanted to learn how to drive a car. Before you can get to things like drifting hand brake turns and doughnuts, you need to learn the rules of the road.
You need to learn how to start the car, accelerate, gradually hit the brakes to come to a smooth stop, and most importantly how to avoid getting a ticket from the Police and being banned from driving forever – or Google as they’re known on the Internet 🙂
Without these fundamentals, you wouldn’t even be able to get from point A to point B without killing yourself and several innocent bystanders.
And SEO is the same (Except for all the killing of course).
You need to nail the fundamentals before you can rank high in the search engines like Google and generate decent traffic to your site.
So the two SEO fundamentals you MUST first learn are keyword research and on-page SEO.
These are subjects that deserve their own free SEO training series, so that’s why I’ve got your back and done that for you 🙂
In Part 3 you’ll discover how to learn SEO easily, and after you’ve mastered the fundamentals listed above, I’ll reveal something I highly recommend doing next.
I’ll see you in the next post 🙂
